Genetically modified foods

Genetically modified foods have been developed because of perceived benefits to the producers and consumers. These foods are insect resistance, Herbicide resistance, disease resistance capacity. Apart from these benefits, genetic engineering can now produce nutritionally enriched foods. But the World Health Organization has identified a few main issues of concern for human health. The issues are allergenicity, gene transfer, and outcrossing. Continuous risk assessment and safety evaluation is advised for GM Foods.
